IMPERIAL VALLEY AHEC
Imperial Valley Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is housed at Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo (CDSDP), a private non-profit organization providing an array of comprehensive primary care services to residents throughout Imperial and Riverside Counties. The AHEC program is designed to improve the quality of healthcare training and increase our community-based health professions.
Today, CDSDP operates ten health clinics, four dental clinics, three Women, Infant and Children Nutrition Education Centers, and six WIC voucher distribution sites. All clinics located in ten different cities within the Imperial and Riverside counties are operated by more than 500 healthcare professionals and volunteers. We are dedicated to providing excellent care, delivering a high level of customer service, and upholding services with uncompromising adherence to the highest standard of moral and ethical conduct. All clinics have bilingual and bi-cultural staff to assist patients
Our students are looking forward to expand their healthcare careers within our region. A border county that has access to a public university and a community college. In partnership with local institutions our AHEC program is open to healthcare prospect professionals to benefit our community with the demand in the county’s local workforce. Imperial Valley AHEC is designed, but not limited to medical assistants, physicians, nurses, mental health providers, dentists, and social workers. CDSDP will guide and encourage students to develop their careers in primary-care. As we continue to grow, we will continue advocating for primary-care careers. Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo based its AHEC program to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve through providing access to excellent care, available to all.
