CA AHEC Alumni Panel

We are proud to share the news of the first CA AHEC Alumni Panel event! A few of our San Francisco AHEC Alumni approached the center director (Beau Sanchez) to discuss creating an alumni group. They successfully created the group as well as curated the first Alumni Panel via Zoom. Several current students from several AHEC centers across California attended the event. Three SF Alumni (Rabiya Tufail, Farrah Khoyloo, and Jacqueline Lam) discussed their favorite study skills, networking with new people within their field, and resiliency. Several current AHEC scholars attended the Alumni Panel discussion and participated by asking questions to these three women, one of which was, “How do you deal with imposter syndrome?”. These are the types of conversations we want to foster as current scholars move through the program and towards graduation. The program office will continue to promote these events to our current scholars and other alumni via our social media accounts, @cal-ahec.

To end the Alumni Panel, Beau Sanchez asked for all participants to give a one-word takeaway from this experience to which the responses were as follows: inspired, motivated, helpful, network, empowered, and leaders.
