Photo 1Photo 2The Orange County AHEC is hosted by the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers (COCCC), a consortium of safety net providers and key partners creating quality healthcare for vulnerable, underserved communities. The Coalition has 26 clinic members and affiliates and 16 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), altogether totaling 88 clinic sites.

The Orange County AHEC partners with academic institutions and community groups to provide Community Health Center Training experiences for medical, dental, nurse practitioners, medical assistants and mental health students; conducts continuing education programs for clinic staff and providers on disease specific topics, clinic management, cultural competency and changes related to the Affordable Care Act and Covered California; and presents information to youth and health professions students and residents on working in CHC’s including scholarship and loan repayment options. The AHEC has an advisory board composed of academic and health professionals, and community members that meet on a quarterly basis to provide guidance with goals of the program.
