North Bay AHEC is a new AHEC Center currently funded through the state. It’s housed in a network of clinics and community health centers that are dedicated to strengthening a community-wide system of primary care health services available to our diverse and multi-cultural populations. The service area is located north of San Francisco, California, and includes frontier rural, agricultural, suburban and urban communities with a total population of approximately one million people, where almost 10% of the total population lives beneath the federal poverty level and 24% lives beneath 200% of the poverty level. Training activities include continuing education, and health professions students/residents rotations in CHCs.
