Housed at AltaMed Clinic Services, a full service
community health center (CHC) network with 17 locations in Southern California, the East Los Angeles AHEC provides continuing education to health professionals working in CHCs and offers clinical rotations to Family Medicine residents.  AltaMed sponsors a Community Healthcorps program to provide information about health care careers and offers internships within the AltaMed CHC network. The East Los Angeles AHEC sponsors a youth health careers conference for disadvantaged youth in the Los Angeles area that offers health career information to students as well as strategies to navigate the college admittance process.
