Housed at the Health Projects Center located in Santa Cruz, the Central Coast AHEC works to increase the number of health professionals trained to care for the state’s rapidly growing senior population and its frail elderly.  The Central Coast AHEC trains Family Medicine residents from Natividad Medical Center and nursing students from Cabrillo College through clinical and community rotations, didactic learning and simulations. Health professionals from area community health centers also receive continuing education in chronic disease care and geriatrics.
